State Of Origin 2026

Liam Martin's the right choice. Olakauatu is all talent no brains. With his size he should score twice as much as he does, all he does is fall over the line and run shit lines. He doesn't even run that hard. Some 2nd rowers like Nanai, Eli Katoa, Hudson Young score a lot because they have a good read of the game and are high effort, but Olakauatu is just pure size and basically needs everything to fall in place for him to then just run over a defender, and even then he's clumsy at putting the ball down. That's not good enough for origin. Maybe as 20th man. Better off having someone like Spencer Leniu on the bench instead.

Haumole is all talent no brains, so let's bring in Spencer? Um, what?

I think he's a bit overrated too but the bloke has run for between 160 and 260m a game.

As an aggressive prop option for a short burst. That's what Haumole is on the bench for, surely that's better off in the middle than as a 2nd rower.

I don't see how they are in competition with each other at all. Martin goes apeshit for 25 then you bring Haumole on. I think any coach who doesn't pick a strike edge player is missing a trick in Origin.

Don't have much of an issue with Spencer other than that he can't play big minutes. If Haas goes down, NSW are literally fucked. This wouldn't be a conversation if Daley just picked some fucking props on the pine. Having only AFB there after giving him 8 minutes, is ludicrous.

I dont even really care who they are anymore; Keaon, May, Paseka, Leniu, Yeo, Barnett, AFB. Just pick two of them Laurie, and call it a day. They're all so fucking petrified of having big, fatigued props out there. Like, it doesn't matter if you cant actually get forward to begin with because you lack size.

This 6-man bench bullshit has to go imo. It can only be a matter of time before fans stop sitting still, watching their players warm an Origin bench, get zero minutes and miss an NRL game. I can sort of see an argument for a break-the-glass 18th man who can play halves or an outside back given the HIA protocols. But 19 is ludicrous.

People have been pissed off about losing their star players to Origin for years and this is making it worse.

NRL would have pissed when Walsh missed an NRL game to sit on the bench for the whole game.

I hate it at every level.

Gotta laugh at Robson and Martin having a whinge about Grant getting in Klein's ear. We haven't a single ruck pen in two games you muppets.

  9. Magic AJ Parker

    Don't forget the ankle taps.

Lol. You'd think someone who's been watching the game this long would know better. Naive lil fella.

Cotter's been comfortably the worst player on the fueld with Cobbo not far behind. And Nikora needs shooting for that play. Stops and talks trash mid-run and then leads with the forearm into the next tackle. Braindead.

We're getting molested through the middle. Awful defence. And why tf Slater hasnt brought Carrigan on is beyond me.

Looks like we saved our worst performance for the decider. Totally unorganised and if Sam Walker kicks early again im gonna headbutt the cunt.

    Queensland look very emotional tonight.

Their defence has been shocking. Did not see this coming.

I dunno how many years I've been saying it but watching Cobbo bomb tries every match because he's too tight and too deep is wearing me down.

Gotta get Haas and AFB on at the same time with Brailey

Having Flegler and Tino off at the same time with Plath and Cotter out there is smooth-brain from Billy. We're getting monstered. Its almost as if props matter.

  17. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

Well done Blues. We didn't deserve to win at all. Slater fucked our rotation sooo bad. Taking off two props to have Plath and Loiero is Daley type shit. I will never understand the argument for small forwards in Origin.

Couldn't take a trick tonight. Pus go-forward, pus defence, disorganised attack. Schoolboy errors. Cobbo and Capewell were borderline disgraceful.

The Best try cost us. We might've been a chance but it would've been undeserved. As undeserved as it was for NSW in game 1. Listening to Cameron Smith grasp at straws about the Bostock knock on was just irritating...like come on dude, how can you whinge about that as if we deserve to be in this game at all with that error rate. Very disappointing...

Was evident how much slower Bradley's service is when he came on for Robson.

Robson was absolutely zinging his spirals tonight.

Billy Slater with one of the all time great hold my beer moments after watching NSW struggle with Radley and Murray in the front row for the first two games of the series.

I thought Lindsay Collins might be a bigger out than first throught but it's not like he didn't have Carrigan on the bench and just flat out chose not to use him.
